50-3

My apologies for the delay in updates.  I've been battling the same junk the rest of my family had and my voice hasn't been very good.  However, there will be a new podcast soon so stay tuned!

The title refers to the record of the Boise State football senior class--the most wins in FBS history.  There are so many great individuals in this class and each brought something special to this amazing era of BSU football.  But of course, the one player who's name is always first on this list is their fearless leader...

Kellen Moore--everyone has a favorite story or memory featuring this young man.  I always think back to his first start against Idaho State.  I didn't know what to make of this kid from Prosser, WA.  I'd read all of the articles and background information readily available to everyone else but seeing him for the first time live and in action... well... I just didn't know.  I mean hindsight is 20/20 and all that and certainly I trusted the coaches to make the right call, in any case.  But seeing him in action--he just didn't look the part.  Then I saw him calmly drop back and complete a pass.  Then I watched him complete another, and another, etc.  Finally, after watching him toss a few touchdown strikes and making it look easy I wondered, do we actually have something here?

Four years later, that question has been answered in emphatic fashion--all the stats, records, wins.  He's quick to make sure the team gets it's due but he has unquestionably been the centerpiece of the most amazing period in BSU sports history.

Clearly, we're all a little concerned about the future.  The roster is going to look very different next season.  But those are worries for a future day.  For now, let's just take a moment, sit back, and reflect on something we may never see again (at least in this fashion) in our lifetimes.
